Cristian Figueroa (Archaeology, PhD in Progress) recently presented his research at the 2026 Multidisciplinary Graduate Student Conference in Premodern Studies, held at the Newberry Library.

His presentation, "Interpreting Comca’ac Ceramic Figurines as Materialized Non-Binary Identities," examined how archaeological materials can offer new perspectives on gender and identity in premodern contexts.
