Business of Sports Certificate - Applications accepted until January 24, 2020
The Business of Sports Certificate is a two-month, intensive certificate program offered by the Leeds School of Business. The program is aÌý9-credit “boot campâ€Ìýfor students and recent graduates who are seriously interested in pursuing careers in the sports and recreation industry.
The BOS Program will be held fromÌýJune 8th to July 24, 2020Ìýand the 3 credit Maymester prerequisite will be held fromÌýMay 11 to May 29, 2020.
Students will spend half of the day learning about what it is like to work in various divisions of the sports business world. Industry practitioners walk students through day-to-day operations of these departments and explain what it takes to get into these positions. The following divisions will be examined and integrated with industry-specific topics and industry guest speakers:
- Economics of Sports
- Sports Law
- Sports Facility and Event Management
- Sports Marketing and Sales
- Sport Analytics
- Ticket Sales
- Social Media Marketing
During the other half of the day, students will conduct extensive research on a project developed by one of our contributing partners:

Throughout the program, students will have numerous networking opportunities. They will meet professionals from different avenues of sports through career days and site visits.
