Professor Rosario-Ortiz meets with governor of Puerto Rico
On Oct.Ìý5,ÌýFernando Rosario-Ortiz had the opportunity to meet with the governor of Puerto Rico, Ricardo Roselló. Roselló was visiting ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½Æƽâ°æÏÂÔØ as part of a presentation to the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights.
During their meeting, Rosario-OrtizÌýdiscussedÌýthe work that he and other researchers in environmental engineeringÌýhad done regarding waterÌýquality in Puerto Rico in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria. The governor offered his support for the work beingÌýconducted byÌýRosario-Ortiz and his team, and they discussed opportunities for furtherÌýcollaboration. The teamÌýincludes Mark Hernandez,ÌýJulie KorakÌýand graduate student Melanie Warren.
