The Entrepreneurship Center for Music (ECM) at ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½Æƽâ°æÏÂÔØ College of Music is a national leader in professional development for musicians. As one of the first such programs in the country, the ECM is itself an entrepreneurial endeavor, developing new paradigms for education, leadership and advocacy in the emerging field of arts entrepreneurship.

CU Gigs is a musician referral service with an extensive database of talented, professional music students available for hire.

Register as a solo musician or an ensemble through .

Once signed up to the CU Gigs email list, you will receive weekly emails about upcoming gigs. From there, you can respond to the gigs coordinator saying you're interested in the gig.

No, the ECM does not provide contracts, but we do encourage our students to create their own. You can reach out to our Interim Director Marilyn Brock for additional help and information.

Our current recommended fee is a minimum of $150/hour per musician.

No. Programs offered by the ECM, including the Certificate in Music Entrepreneurship, are designed to supplement the degree plans of students majoring in Music. There is no separate degree in Music Entrepreneurship.

Yes. Most ECM courses are cross-listed for graduate and undergraduate credit. We also offer a Graduate Career Seminar course, which is designed specifically for graduate students.

Not at present time. Because the Certificate also involves a minor in Business, it is only open to undergraduate music majors. However, the Arts Administration Micro-Credential is offered to active College of Music, College of Arts & Sciences or College of Business graduate students in good academic standing or ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½Æƽâ°æÏÂÔØ staff members with experience or interest in performing arts administration. While ECM courses are designed for music majors, the instructor may give permission for you to enroll in a class as long as the roster isn’t full. If you’re interested, please make an appointment with the ECM Director so we can decide if the class is a good fit for you.

The ECM hosts many events throughout the year. These include more informal Learning Lunches which often feature a guest speaker from the arts industry, Career Launchpad workshops and seminars and Connections events to chat with fellow students and ECM staff. We also host an annual workshop on taxes for musicians, an open house in the fall, a day where students can get a professional headshot done on campus, and more!

Yes! Although our events are designed primarily for College of Music students, you are welcome to attend. The only exception is our Leading Through Dissonance series, which is restricted to accepted applicants from the College of Music.
