Faculty Fellows are a competitively selected group of faculty selected to consider a sustainability theme and lead a faculty training.ÌýÌý
The first cohort is focused on the theme of environmental and climate justice. This theme was chosen as a result of: a) faculty demand for discussions on the relationship between environmental and climate justice and this new sustainability focus; and b) the volatile changing political landscape related to this topic.Ìý
The inaugural class of Faculty Fellows will:
- co-create and coordinate a campus-wide agenda for transformational learning (note: this is not curriculum work, which will be vetted through a separate ambassador program)
- provide information, deliberate, and illuminate best practices for sustainability education to help inform broader efforts across campus and as an international leader
- commiserate on barriers we have faced in sustainability education and praxis
- advocate for innovative initiatives that energize us to actualize more Sustainable Futures
- cultivate faculty networks of support across campus, including serving as liaisons to centers and institutes across campus
- collectively prepare and deliver a faculty training on campus
- identify, assess, and collect sustainability education materials and infrastructure for teaching and learningÌý
