Chemical Engineering
Award
Outstanding Course Assistant
Future Plans
High School Science Teacher in Alaska
Why did you receive this award?
Teaching is what I love doing, and being a course assistant has been a great outlet for that throughout my time here at CU. ÌýI served as a course assistant for five different courses, including three semesters for the Material and Energy Balances course.
What was your biggest challenge during your engineering education?
The biggest challenge during my time here was realizing how economically focused the program and career path are. I came to understand that I'm looking for something different, which is why I am returning to teaching sooner than expected.
What is your favorite CU memory?
Not an individual memory, but it has been a great time getting to know many of the bright students in the chemical engineering and biological engineering programs.
What's your biggest piece of advice for incoming engineering students?
Let passion and curiosity be your primary driving forces.
