What does receiving an NSF Graduate Research Fellowships award mean to you?
Receiving the NSF GRF is a great honor. I am incredibly grateful for all my mentors over the years who have supported and believed in me, and helped me become the scientist I am today. I plan to use this funding to uplift future scientists through peer mentorship and in-lab mentorship to pay forward that support, while pursuing impactful research.Ìý
Current research focus
Creating implantable meniscus tissue, the shock-absorbing cartilage in the knee, using engineering approaches and materials that are safe for the body, to treat damaged menisci
If successful, this research could provide a therapy for the hundreds of thousands of people who sustain meniscus injuries every year, improving their quality of life and reducing future risk of osteoarthritis and other joint injuries.Ìý
