ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½Æƽâ°æÏÂÔØ

Every year at the April Campus Sustainability Summit theÌýÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½Æƽâ°æÏÂÔØ Green Labs Award Program recognizes ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½Æƽâ°æÏÂÔØ lab members, campus groups and departments for their remarkable actions and commitments to advance sustainability in the science community.Ìý

This year we celebrated four ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½Æƽâ°æÏÂÔØ Green Labs awardees:

1. The Department of Chemistry for their recent signing of the Green Chemistry Commitment, exemplifying the department’s ongoing dedication to green chemistry education.
2. The LASP Sustainability Group for its ongoing efforts to implement and encourage sustainable actionsÌýwithin the Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics Institute.
3. The General Chemistry Teaching Labs for sustainability actions implemented over many years.
4. The Department of Earth Sciences for their outstanding efforts to increase shared research facilities and resources within the Benson Earth Sciences building.

Additionally, each year the Green Chemistry Certificate Fellowship Committee (which is a partnership between the Department of Chemistry and Green Labs) offers ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½Æƽâ°æÏÂÔØ students the opportunity to apply for fellowships covering the cost of anÌý.ÌýÌý

Green Chemistry Certificate Fellowships have been awarded to four ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½Æƽâ°æÏÂÔØ students for the 2026-2027 academic year:Ìý

• Sydney Underhill majoring in Chemical Engineering
• Saoirse Chase majoring in Biochemistry and Public Health
• Delilah Duguid majoring in Chemical Engineering
• Ananya Sharma a PhD student in Organic Chemistry

The next opportunity to submit nominations for Green Labs Awards or for students to apply for Green Chemistry Certificate Fellowships will be at the beginning of the Spring 2027 semester.Ìý
