Ed Talks to explore of place, identity, family, the body, romance and more on Dec. 2
On Thursday, Dec. 2, the School of Education at ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½Æƽâ°æÏÂÔØ will host a special virtual gathering of Ed Talks, an intersectional exploration of place, identity, family, the body, romance and more.
Inspired by TED Talks, ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½Æƽâ°æÏÂÔØ Ed Talks are short, engaging talks that address some of today’s most pressing issues in education and beyond, including the fall 2021 theme about working toward collective liberation.Ìý
This illuminating series features five experienced educators and ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½Æƽâ°æÏÂÔØ scholars—including four doctoral candidates—who were part of a tight group of educators who came together last summer to the design and host the highly regarded Ìý·É¾±³Ù³óÌý.
Through the speakers’ powerful, personal and poetic stories, the series touches on indigenous, trans and queer ways of knowing and imagining, the untold truth about teaching, how a community can embody bilingualism and social change, and more.
The event invites change-makers, educators and anyone who is interested in learning and unlearning our understanding of learning and each other to work together to create a culture that is liberating for all.ÌýÂ
ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½Æƽâ°æÏÂÔØ Ed Talks will begin at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 2, and the virtual talks will be followed by an interactive Q&A. Registration is required.Ìý
