The Infrastructure & Safety Procurement Office assists in the acquisition of goods and services for all of Infrastructure & Safety as well as development and management of the Sustainable Purchasing program for the campus.

frastructure & Resilience (I&R) supports the procurement of construction-related goods and services for the ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ÆÆ½â°æÏÂÔØ campus. Working in partnership with the Procurement Service Center (PSC), I&R helps ensure that construction projects, facility improvements, and infrastructure-related purchases comply with university requirements and campus standards.

Who Buys What?

CU Procurement Service Center (PSC)

The PSC is responsible for purchasing most goods and non-construction services on behalf of the university and provides guidance on procurement policies, contracts, and purchasing processes.

ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ÆÆ½â°æÏÂÔØ Infrastructure & Resilience (I&R)

Through delegated authority from the University of Colorado and the State of Colorado, I&R manages procurement for construction-related projects and professional services associated with campus facilities and infrastructure.

This includes:

  • Construction and renovation projects
  • Facility and infrastructure improvements
  • Architectural and engineering services
  • Industrial hygiene services
  • Building-related consulting services
  • Campus infrastructure and grounds projects

When Does I&R Get Involved?

I&R should be consulted before purchasing or contracting for any project that modifies university buildings, infrastructure, or grounds.

Examples may include:

  • Building renovations and alterations
  • Custom building installations
  • Flooring, doors, windows, and related building components
  • Utility or infrastructure improvements
  • Paving and site work
  • Professional design and engineering services

Early coordination helps ensure projects meet campus standards, regulatory requirements, and procurement guidelines.

I&R continuously evaluates opportunities to improve procurement and project delivery processes across campus. This includes streamlining construction-related procedures, promoting consistency in campus standards, and working with suppliers and contractors to achieve cost-effective, high-quality outcomes.

Sustainability is an important consideration in campus construction, maintenance, and operational activities. I&R supports university sustainability goals by incorporating sustainable practices and standards into project planning and procurement activities whenever feasible.
