In Memoriam.ÌýTom Johnson, who died in 2026, helped establish the genetics of aging as a major field of research. UsingÌýC. elegansÌýand mouse models, he identified longevity mutants and biological pathways influencing lifespan. During his many years at ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½Æƽâ°æÏÂÔØ and IBG, he also mentored generations of researchers.
Research Interests:
Genetics dissection of the longevity-enhancing properties of dietary restriction in both the nematode worm and in the mouse. Studies of stochasticity in longevity and rate of aging in the nematode. Predictions of longevity.
