Monday, September 28 @ 4–5 p.m. (Light refreshments begin at 3:30 p.m.)
Chancellor’s Hall & Auditorium, CASE Building
University of Colorado Boulder

This talk will describe Cleland Lab's efforts in quantum acoustics, where they are exploring the use of individual itinerant phonons for possible applications to quantum computing and quantum sensing. Using superconducting qubits as deterministic sources and detectors of individual microwave-frequency phonons, they can create individual phonons in a mechanical resonator; generate quantum entangled states between phonons in two physically separate mechanical resonators; transmit quantum states between superconducting qubits via phonons, and generate quantum entanglement by sharing “half-phonons” between two superconducting qubits.

Wednesday, September 16 @ 4:45–5:45 p.m.
Colorado Quantum Incubator

Quantum After Hours is a great example of why community matters as much as science in this field. Join for community building and networking. No presentation. No agenda. This is where researchers, engineers, founders, investors, and the quantum-curious all show up together to build an ecosystem. Some of the best ideas come from someone new to the field asking questions.

Tuesday, September 15 @ 4:30–7 p.m.
Colorado Quantum Incubator
5555 Central Ave, Boulder, CO

Join us for an event bringing together leaders from industry, research, government and economic development to explore growing connections between Colorado’s quantum ecosystem and France’s leadership in quantum science and technology.

Tuesday, October 20, 2026 @ 12–3 p.m.
Glenn Miller Ballroom, University Memorial Center
University of Colorado Boulder

This event will feature employers across all areas of theoretical, experimental, and computational physics. The fair will connect physics undergraduate and graduate students and recent alumni with laboratory and industry leaders to learn about internships and employment opportunities.
