Faculty Spotlight
Bennett鈥檚 focus is on informal physics education, studying participants in the Partnerships for Informal Science Education in the Community (PISEC) as well supporting institutions. He also leads the JILA Physics Frontier Center's outreach initiative and serves as director of education for Q-SEnSE.
Axelrad is the Joseph T. Negler Professor and immediate past chair of the Smead Department of Aerospace Engineering Sciences, as well as a senior investigator at Q-SEnSE, where she is studying applications of quantum technologies and systems for exploration, positioning, navigation and timing.
Shaheen currently serves as a professor in the Department of Electrical, Computer and Energy Engineering with a joint appointment at NREL. His research group is particularly interested in quantum materials with unique charge transport and photonic properties for applications in photovoltaics, memory devices and neuromorphic circuits.
Professor Lewandowski's group studies collisions and reactions of simple cold molecules, with the ultimate goal to understand the quantum mechanical processes involved in making and breaking a chemical bond. Her group aims to control the reacting molecules external and internal degrees of freedom in the quantum regime.
Shuo Sun joined 蜜桃传媒破解版下载 in August 2020 as an assistant professor of physics and JILA Associate Fellow. He studies light-matter interactions at the quantum limit, where single photons can interact with single atoms. These interactions lead to important applications in quantum information science and technology.
Sae Woo Nam is currently a project leader for the Faint Photonics group at NIST. Manipulating and understanding single photons is key to enhancing and developing new optical systems鈥攑articularly for precision measurement, quantum computing, long-distance communications聽and remote sensing.聽
Professor Park (Electrical, Computer and Energy Engineering) joined 蜜桃传媒破解版下载 in 2001. His group studies light-matter interaction in nanoscale materials and structures and develops photonic devices based on them, including biomedical imaging and nano-medicine approaches for cancer treatment.
Professor Radzihovsky has been named a Simons Investigator and a fellow of the American Physical Society. His research focuses on developing theories of a broad range of condensed matter, from quantum liquids and superconductors to disordered systems and degenerate atomic gases.
Cindy Regal, CUbit's Associate Director for Science, joined 蜜桃传媒破解版下载 in 2010. Her research explores quantum information and optics in isolated quantum systems. In particular, she focuses on manipulating single and few neutral atoms and the quest to control single phonons in mesoscopic mechanical oscillators.
An associate professor in the Department of Computer Science, Kolla鈥檚 research interests include spectral graph theory, algorithms, convex programming, statistical physics聽and quantum computing. Kolla is particularly interested in developing new spectral techniques that use the full power of graph spectra.
