As the fall 2026 semester gets underway, please keep in mind the following important dates.Ìý

Friday, Aug. 28

Ìý

• Students lose access to add or swap classes in Class Search/Buff Portal. Department admins continue to have add access through Dec. 2. Alternatively, admins may submit theÌý. After this date, admins cannot complete swaps because they cannot complete the drop portion. Swap requests should be requested using theÌý .

• If an instructor or department wants to enroll a student from the waitlist after this date, they should follow the steps above to enroll a student.

Friday, Sept. 4

• Students who complete a class withdrawal after this deadline will receive W grades and be charged tuition. After this date, staff and faculty lose access to drop a class. Staff should encourage students to complete drops through Class Search. If a department needs to assist a student with dropping, they should useÌý. Alternatively, the Online SAF may be used but class withdrawals are processed with an effective date matching the form submission date.Ìý

Ìý

• If a student has extenuating circumstances and withdraws from all main campus classes, they may submit aÌýÌý(through the Bursar’s Office).

• After this deadline, students lose access to change their variable credit hours. Admins continue to have access to make the variable credit change through Dec. 2 or submit theÌý.
• Students lose access to request a change to a class to no-credit status via the online form. There are no exceptions to this deadline.

Tuesday, Sept. 8

• On this date, students who were on the waitlist lose access to course materials in Canvas.
