The LewandowskiÌýGroup studies how studentsÌýobtain experimental researchÌýskills in the context ofÌýinstructional labs and undergraduate researchÌýexperiences. We do this though both quantitative and qualitative methods looking at topics such as modeling in labs, student epistemology and project ownership, the impact of aÌýlab transformation on student reasoning surrounding measurement uncertainty, student communication through writing during labs, lab skills essential for the quantum workforce, and changes in lab instructionÌýduringÌýthe pandemic.
