This Week at the College of Music: Community Edition - April 1, 2021
Each spring, talented students across the College of Music vie for a chance to perform with the CU Symphony Orchestra the following school year. The two outstanding winners of our 2021 Honors Competition are Ethan Blake (BM cello) and Anita Dumar (AD violin): "I’m pinching myself!" Dumar says. In further winning news, DMA student Julia Taylor (violin) won $1K in the New Venture Challenge. Her innovative idea? Chinlax—a smart violin chin rest that helps violinists practice form and develop healthy practice habits. Additionally, the ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½Æƽâ°æÏÂÔØ Trumpet Ensemble advanced to the quarterfinals of the 48th Fischoff Chamber Music Competition, as well as the finals of the 2021 National Trumpet Competition.
