Fall 2026 degrees are conferred. The university commencement ceremony occurs in May and fall graduates are invited to participate. Many colleges, schools, departments and programs also hold winter recognition ceremonies in December.

Undergrads, graduate and MBA students may purchase undergraduate regalia from the CU Book Store in-store during store hours or online at any time.

General Folder Reports

Active Courses by Term

Historical reporting has been expanded to include Fall 2021 and forward.

Note: One of our current initiatives is reviewing the university’s most used reports to identify enhancement opportunities and deliver meaningful performance improvements. Our next major effort will focus on the Layer 3 report within the New Student Dashboard. We will be surveying users of this dashboard in October/November.

College of Engineering Reports

Academic Standing Report

Several improvements have been made to enhance clarity, performance and usability:

Academic Standing Report_upd Sep2020_Base Report renamed Academic Standing Report for consistency and ease of use.

Runtime reduced from approximately 10-15 minutes to under three minutes.

Removed the current term (2267) from reporting since academic standing is assigned at the end of a term and current-term data could be misleading.

Defaulted the report to engineering students and removed the program prompt, as this report is used exclusively by the College of Engineering.

Removed unused attributes, including BLD3 and address-related fields.

Added PBLD and PEFG student group indicators using student group start and end dates.

Added filtering to display only students with an academic standing code for the selected term, while also displaying academic standing history for the previous four terms.

Engineering Student Profile Report Enhancements

The Engineering Student Profile report received significant enhancements:

Updated the base query to use the current program/plan stack rather than term-start data.

Removed unused attributes, including high school information.

Added the primary advisor associated with Major 1.

Added Subplan and Admit Type fields.

The College of Engineering and Applied Sciences reported these performance improvements dramatically reduced runtime to under two minutes —and often under 30 seconds depending on the filters—and eliminated timeout issues. Previously, runtime was 45 minutes or more, with frequent timeouts.

The BI Development team is also collaborating with CEAS to inventory additional reports for enhancement opportunities and possible consolidation.

Diploma Order Report – Certificates

Enhancements have been made to improve certificate reporting accuracy:

Added logic to properly account for degrees with multiple certificates nested under a single degree.

Updated school/college assignment logic when academic owner data from Campus Solutions is not populated. The following default mappings are now applied:

CRTGE, CRTGA, CRTGC, CRTGM, CRTGI, CRTGD → Graduate School

CRTLW → Law School

CRTUA → College of Arts and Sciences

CRTUB → Leeds School of Business

CRTUE → College of Engineering and Applied Science

CRTUM → College of Music

International Class Schedule

Several new fields and formatting improvements have been added:

Added FERPA consent designated first and last name.

Added Org Code and CU ORG Codes.

Meeting Start Time, Meeting End Time and Run Date now display in a standardized date/time format.

Updated FERPA Consent Expiration Date logic to display blank values when source dates contain placeholder values (09/09/9999 or 01/01/1900).

FERPA Consent Report

To simplify processing for ERS staff:

Users can now copy and paste a list of Student IDs directly into the report instead of uploading an Excel file.

Updated FERPA Consent Expiration Date logic to suppress placeholder dates (09/09/9999 and 01/01/1900).

Dear [first],

You have been approved for in-state tuition as an honorably discharged veteran. We’re reaching out with information about the potential financial benefits of also becoming a Colorado resident for tuition purposes.

Financial Benefits of Becoming a Resident

As an honorably discharged veteran, you’ll be assessed the in-state tuition rate through a military residency exception while attending ��Ҵ�ý�ƽ��.

However, if you are 22 years old or older, married or a graduate student, you can begin taking steps now to become eligible for in-state tuition as a full Colorado resident. Colorado undergraduates are considered for state and ��Ҵ�ý�ƽ�� grants, which could increase your financial aid offer next year.

Pursuing Colorado resident classification is optional and will not affect your eligibility for the in-state tuition rate under the veteran exception.

Your Next Steps to Petition for a Residency Change

Step 1: Submit Your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

If you do intend to become a Colorado resident and want to be considered for additional financial aid, submit your 2027–28 FAFSA and any requested documentation. The FAFSA will be available October 1 for the upcoming school year. Learn more about applying for aid.

Step 2: Take Action to Establish Colorado Domicile

Your 12-month physical presence period began when you moved to Colorado. To prove demonstrate your intent to make Colorado your one, true, fixed and permanent home, you must:

ObtainGet a Colorado driver’s license or ID card within 120 days of moving to the state.
Register your vehicle, (if you have one,) in Colorado within 180 days of moving to the state to avoid penalties.
Establish additional Colorado ties. Visit our adult residency page and watch the adult residency video to learnreview the full requirements.

Step 3: Submit a Residency Petition

Use our residency calendars to determine the first semester for which you'd qualify for in-state residency.

Once petitions open for that term, submit your residency petition with all required documentation to the Office of the Registrar by the posted deadline.

If you still plan to complete your bachelor's degree this semester, you must complete three steps by Oct. 1, 2026. For recipients of financial aid, this will also help ensure a smooth transition to graduate funding and timely updates to aid next semester.

Submit a BAM supplement form to identify which courses you're double counting and which you're using toward the master's degree.

On Tuesday, Sept. 8, we canceled (a.k.a., purged) the waitlists for Fall 2026 Main Campus Boulder full-semester (Session B) classes. Waitlists for Colorado Mesa (Session BMU) classes were canceled on Thursday, Sept. 3.

Waitlists for Boulder Law full-semester (Session BLW) classes will be canceled on Wednesday, Sept. 9 and waitlists for Western Colorado (Session BWU) classes will be canceled on Friday, Sept. 11.

To request a snapshot of the students who were still on a class waitlist when it was canceled, please email regsystemsdata@colorado.edu. The report also includes students who were waitlisted for more than one section of a class or who were waitlisted for one section but enrolled in another.

As a reminder, students who remain on the waitlist through the cancellation date lose access to the class's online materials and no longer appear on the class roster; however, they may be eligible for course reservation the next time that course is offered.

According to our records, you're currently classified as a nonresident (out-of-state) for tuition purposes. As a graduate or law student, you may be eligible to petition for a change to resident (in-state) tuition classification for Fall 2027 if you moved to Colorado on or before August 18, 2026, and you complete the required steps outlined below.

Domicile refers to your true, fixed and permanent home. Establishing domicile requires:

Physical presence (living in Colorado)
Severing legal ties to your previous state
Establishing legal ties to Colorado in a timely manner after your move

Your Next Steps to Qualify for Fall 2027

If you moved to Colorado on or before August 18, 2026, and you plan to petition for in-state tuition for Fall 2027:

Establish Legal Ties to Colorado as Soon as Possible
- Obtain a Colorado driver's license or state ID within 120 days of moving.
- Change your voter registration to Colorado if you are a registered voter.
- Register your vehicle in Colorado within 180 days of moving.

  We strongly encourage you to review our Adult Residency Petition Information, graduate student video and graduate student handout for full requirements. It is your responsibility to ensure all criteria are met.
Submit Your Petition
- Submit your completed Adult Residency Petition between March 1, 2027 and July 16, 2027 (5 p.m.). Please mark this deadline on your calendar.
- Failure to meet required steps or deadlines will result in denial of your petition, and you will continue to be assessed out-of-state tuition. Maintaining legal ties to another state will also result in denial.

If you moved after August 18, 2026, you may be eligible to petition for a change to resident classification for Spring 2028 or another future term. See our website for dates and deadlines related to other upcoming terms.

Considerations for International Students & WRGP Participants

International students with student visas (e.g., F-1, F-2, H-3, J-1, M-1, M-2) do not typically qualify for in-state tuition and should not submit a petition without first contacting the tuition classification office at tuitclass@colorado.edu.

Graduate students who qualify for in-state tuition rates under the Western Regional Graduate Program (WRGP) should not make changes to their domicile and should not petition for in-state tuition. WRGP applies to select academic programs only.

What Happens Next

If a seat becomes available in your waitlisted class:

Between now and Aug. 28 at 5 p.m., the next eligible waitlisted student will be enrolled automatically. If you're enrolled automatically, you'll receive an email confirmation within 24 hours.
Between Aug. 29 and Sept. 7, contact the department offering the class to see if their policies allow them to enroll you manually. If not, you may want to remain on the waitlist so you're eligible for course reservation, which can guarantee you a seat the next time the course is offered.

On Tuesday, Sept. 8, waitlists are canceled. If you still aren't enrolled, you'll lose access to the class's online materials and be removed from the class roster. If you're eligible for course reservation, we'll email you a confirmation of your eligibility at the start of the next course reservation period.
