Registration Overview

On Monday, Oct. 12, each student's assigned enrollment appointment date and time will appear on their enrollment dates card in Buff Portal and in a registration e-memo from our office. Enrollment appointments are based on total completed cumulative hours for all but law students. If a student has CU or transfer hours added after their enrollment appointment is set, they may be eligible for an enrollment appointment adjustment.

Registration remains open through open enrollment, which begins Monday, Jan. 4, 2027.

Student Enrollment Blocks

Registration opens for each student block at the dates and times below. The time indicated below is the start time of the first appointment within that block. A given block may have several appointment start times. If that is the case, start times occur every 15 minutes.* Numbers in parentheses represent total cumulative credit hours, where applicable.

Thank you to everyone who confirmed or revised their Spring 2027 advising holds. We set most of the advising holds for continuing students (listed below) by Monday, Sept. 21.

If details of a hold are outstanding or if an SID file has not yet been received, the hold has not been set. Please keep in mind that the Office of the Registrar will begin communication to continuing students about registration for the Spring 2027 term on Monday, Oct. 12, and all holds, including those sourced by SID file, must be applied prior to that date. As a reminder, Wednesday, Oct. 7 at noon is the final advising hold deadline after which no new advising holds will be assigned to continuing students.

Who Received This Email?

We sent this email on Thursday, Sept. 10, 2026, to undergraduate students who were admitted to a bachelor's–accelerated master's program and had an expected undergraduate graduation term of Spring 2027.

Dear [first],

Our records indicate that you expect to complete the undergraduate requirements for your Bachelor's–Accelerated Master's (BAM) program in Spring 2027.

If this is still when you plan to graduate with your bachelor's degree, complete the following steps by Feb. 1, 2027, to continue with your master's degree:

Apply to graduate with your bachelor's degree.
Submit a master's continuation form.
Submit a BAM supplement form to identify which courses you're double counting and which should apply to your master's degree.

If your expected graduation term has changed, please complete a BAM program change form so we can update your records. If you’re completing your bachelor’s degree this semester, you’ll need to complete the steps above by Thursday, Oct. 1.

Students are considered for different types and amounts of financial aid when they become graduate students. If you’re receiving financial aid, please note that your aid will be adjusted automatically when your student status changes.

Spring 2027 Advising Hold Timeline

Wednesday, Aug. 26: The Business Analysis & Operations team contacted departments with existing holds.
Thursday, Sept. 3:
- Deadline for departments with existing holds to submit additions, changes or deletions.
- Deadline for departments to request a new advising hold (email your request to regsystemsdata@colorado.edu).
Wednesday, Sept. 9: Deadline for departments to submit SID lists for batch processing (if applicable).
Thursday, Sept. 10: The Business Analysis & Operations team begins setting advising holds.
Monday, Oct. 5 at noon: Final advising hold deadline.
Monday, Oct. 12: Assigned Spring 2027 enrollment dates are visible to students in Buff Portal. No new advising holds will be assigned.

We will begin setting Spring 2027 academic advising holds (a.k.a., advising service indicators) for continuing students after fall census and expect to complete that process on Monday, Sept. 21. Once set, these holds will prevent students in those programs from registering until they've met with their academic advisor.

If your department would like to discuss creating a new advising hold for Spring 2027, email the Systems & Data Services team with the details of your request by Thursday, Sept. 3.

Review Your Holds

If your department currently uses advising holds, you should have received an email from the Business Analysis & Operations team last week to confirm the population and text of your hold. Reply with any necessary changes, additions or deletions by Thursday, Sept. 3.

If your department's advising holds are assigned using an SID list, submit your list by noon on Wednesday, Sept. 9. Lists submitted after that date will be processed in the order in which they're received, allowing at least two business days for processing.

Notify Your Students

To support student success, academic departments are responsible for notifying their students when an advising hold is placed and for providing a clear explanation of the steps the student must take to have it released.

If you wish to request an e-memo, student communications are distributed by Strategic Relations & Communications using ��Ҵ�ý�ƽ�� Today and associated campus communication tools. Visit the ��Ҵ�ý�ƽ�� Today website to view the different tools (e.g., ��Ҵ�ý�ƽ�� Today stories and administrative e-memos) and submit your message for campus audiences.

Release Holds Promptly

Advising holds include a timeline for release (e.g., "After you've met with your advisor, your hold will be removed within three business days"). Please remove the advising hold as soon as you can after the student has received advising toensure compliance with this timeline.
