A deep look into petal colors
The Smith lab was lucky to host two local high school students, Meghan Ogilvie and Sam Hughes, to work with us on the new flower-fruit color project. Meghan and Sam learned how to painstakingly remove the petal epidermis and took fabulous images where we can see anthocyanins in vacuoles and carotenoids in chromoplasts. Â They won most visually appealing poster at the end of semester session for the CU Science Discovery program. Congrats, Sam and Meghan!
