We are a vibrant, multicultural, diverse community of scholars and students deeply engaged in the study of the languages, cultures, societies, literatures and arts of Latin America, the Iberian Peninsula and the growing US LatinxÌýpopulation. Today, more than 500Ìýmillion people speak Spanish worldwide, and over 230 million speak Portuguese. SpanishÌýhas a long tradition in the USA, which along with Mexico, Spain, Colombia, and Argentina is one of the top five Spanish-speaking countries in the world.Ìý
