Buffs in Print: Students of Spanish Publish Stories with UNAM

class
Ìý
"Nuestras historias"Ìýis the title of a new collection of stories written by students at the University of Colorado Boulder during the Fall 2025 semester. These works represent the creative output of two sections of SPAN 2120, a communicative course that serves as a cornerstone of the second-year Spanish curriculum.
Ìý
Under the guidance of Professor Edgar Mauricio Vargas Blanco, students embarked on a rigorous two-phase writing project. The process began with initial drafts composed in the classroom at the start of the semester, followed by a second phase of refinement and completion a month later.

The resulting narratives cover a wide spectrum of personal experiences and themes that resonate with the student body. From reflections on daily life to deep dives into topics of personal importance, these stories showcase the linguistic growth and diverse perspectives of our learners.
Ìý
This collaboration highlights the global reach of the department, as these student voices are now shared through Flores de Nieve, a magazine for students and teachers of Spanish as a Foreign Language, published by the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) and whose main editor is Professor Emma Jiménez Llamas. We invite the ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½Æƽâ°æÏÂÔØ community to explore these narratives and celebrate the hard work and dedication of our Spanish students.
