Updated AI Literacy Foundations course now open to students, faculty, staff

This self-paced Canvas course is designed for the entire ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ÆÆ½â°æÏÂÔØ community including faculty, staff and now students with little prior experience with generative artificial intelligence (AI).Ìý

The purpose behind the course is to increase access to AI literacy resources across campus—empowering educators, learners and administrators to confidently discern whether or not, and how, to use AI tools.Ìý

Topic areas include:

  • What is AI Literacy?
  • What is generative AI?
  • How does generative AI work?
  • AI on campus
  • AI in the classroom
  • Prompt engineering basics
  • Using approved AI tools

The course takes one to two hours to complete. Those who complete the course can be awarded a ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ÆÆ½â°æÏÂÔØ-issued digital recognition badge.Ìý

Course development is a collaboration between the Center for Teaching & Learning, the Office of Information Technology and the Office of Academic Learning Innovation.
