City to begin construction of flood protection project at ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ÆÆ½â°æÏÂÔØ South
The city of Boulder hasÌý at ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ÆÆ½â°æÏÂÔØ South in about six weeks.
°Õ³ó±ðÌý2021 annexation of ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ÆÆ½â°æÏÂÔØ South capped a yearslong collaboration between ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ÆÆ½â°æÏÂÔØ, the city and the community to bring flood protection for 2,300 downstream residents, housing for ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ÆÆ½â°æÏÂÔØ students, faculty and staff, and 119 acres of new permanently protected open space to the site.Ìý

Completion of the flood protection project will pave the way for ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ÆÆ½â°æÏÂÔØ development of housing and other amenities, along with open space restoration.
During flood protection construction

The flood protection project must be completed before ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ÆÆ½â°æÏÂÔØ can begin developing housing on the site. ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ÆÆ½â°æÏÂÔØ site planning for the developable portion of the site has not yet begun.ÌýWhen it does, engaging students, faculty, staff and the community will be a priority.
