Calling all faculty, staff, recognized student organizations and social Greek organizations: Have a great idea for leveraging the arrival of the Sundance Film Festival to campus in your classes or other academic or campus community areas?Ìý

ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½Æƽâ°æÏÂÔØ is collaborating with the Sundance Institute to launch a year of academic, creative and experiential programming that extends beyond the Festival itself, and weÌý.Ìý

These engagement opportunities may include things like: classroom visits; research and creative work events; recognized student organization or recognized social Greek organization programming; campus symposiums or panels; and visioning and planning meetings for deeper engagements, such as collaborative research, exhibits, capstones and events.Ìý

Submit your ideaÌýÌý

Proposals are not limited to specific disciplines or subjects, but they must show a clear connection with an aspect of theÌý and its mission and/or operations.

Each event or activity will typically require that a Sundance Institute staff member or members attend one or two, and no more than four, gatherings, discussions and events.

Any funding needed for a proposed academic or co-curricular event or activity must come from the submitter’s unit, such as the department or program, school or college, institute or center, or recognized student organization.

Who reviews your submissionÌýÌý

A committee led byÌýPublic and Community Engaged Scholarship (PACES) and made up of faculty, staff and students will review all submissions and recommend proposals.Ìý

Ann Schmiesing, senior vice chancellor for strategic initiatives and professor of German, will serve as the committee’s executive sponsor; project management will be handled by Kim Kruchen, director of business strategy.

The committee will confirm the Sundance Institute is able to support the recommended proposals, then connect Institute staff with proposal submitters and track engagement events and activities.ÌýÌý

Please do not reach out directly to the Sundance Institute to request participation in academic and co-curricular events. If the Institute is able to support your idea, a member of the review committee will connect you to them.Ìý

Keep in mind the Sundance Institute may have limited capacity for fall activities as the Festival relocates to Boulder. Information about Maymester and Summer Session will be forthcoming in the spring semester.
