Tomorrow, May 25, marks the day a year ago when George Floyd was murdered by a then-Minneapolis police officer, a tragedy captured in a bystander video. In the aftermath, a sustained movement of Americans called for reform, accountability and an authentic national dialogue on how to move forward as a nation of people who listen to each other, learn from our collective past, and act to effect positive change for the greater good.

It is within this context that we will pauseÌýÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½Æƽâ°æÏÂÔØ TodayÌýeditions tomorrow, allowing space for us to reflect as a community on the events of the past year and how they have irrevocably altered our views of who we are and what we stand for as individuals, a university and nation.

Our intent is thatÌýÌýopen avenues for all of us to reflect, share and explore the ways we can support one another; elevate our ongoing work to create a greater understanding of how to redress historical racial injustice; and continue our work to build a more anti-racist, diverse, equitable and inclusive campus community. This work will takeÌýcourageÌýwith the goals ofÌýhealingÌýand buildingÌýdialogue.
