My current book project is an ethnography of trans medicine and livability in China, which examines how identity-based interventions reproduce trans vulnerabilities within already uneven geopolitical and sociohistorical contexts. My work has appeared in American Ethnologist, Journal of Counseling Psychology, Psychology & Sexuality, and Journal of GLBT Family Studies. My research has been supported by the Social Science Research Council and the Institute for Citizens and Scholars, among others.
