Biophysics Training Program Application

Academic Criteria:Ìý

Students interested in applying should be enrolled as PhD graduate students in one of the five participating departments:Ìý

  • Biochemistry
  • Chemical and Biological Engineering
  • °ä³ó±ð³¾¾±²õ³Ù°ù²âÌý
  • Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology
  • Physics

Program Eligibility Requirements:Ìý

All graduate students with interest in the NIH/CU Biophysics Training Program are encouraged to submit applications for funded or unfunded affiliate trainee positions. Students of all nationalities are welcome to apply, as some traineeship slots can fund international students. Additionally, multiple applications from the same lab are encouraged as anyone is welcome to participate as a program member.Ìý

Application Deadlines & Instructions:

Applications open annually in late spring, and are typically due by the end of May. Students interested in applying are required to submit a form detailing their academic and research progress and statements on topics including (but not limited to):Ìý

  • Past participation in the programÌý
  • Plans for future participation in the programÌý
  • Mentor training in Responsible Conduct of ResearchÌý
  • Mentor training in Rigor and ReproducibilityÌý

Additionally, mentors with students interested in applying are required to submit a letter of support.Ìý

Molecular Biophysics Certificate:

Students that do not participate as trainees are still eligible to complete a Certificate in Molecular Biophysics. To earn the certificate, students must complete the Ph.D. requirements of their home department as well as the additional requirements of theÌýCertificate Program.Ìý

Graduate Admissions

Students interested in the Molecular Biophysics Program should apply to one of the five participating departments, which will serve as the home department for their Ph.D. degree. Our campus and departments provide a welcoming and supportive environment designed to facilitate the career and personal development of all graduate and postdoctoral students who elect to join us. Applications are encouraged from students of all backgrounds.
