I am a PhD student in Civil Engineering (Geotechnical Engineering) at the University of Colorado Boulder, where I began my doctoral studies in 2023. My research focuses on ground failure mechanisms in the shallow subsurface under compound hydrologic–seismic hazards, with an emphasis on variably saturated soils in the vadose zone.

My work integrates centrifuge-based physical modeling in the CIEST Laboratory with theoretical and numerical modeling to study the coupled hydrologic, mechanical, and seismic response of natural slopes. A key aspect of my research is the development of thermodynamically consistent formulations for soil matric potential and constitutive relationships that capture non-equilibrium suction, pore pressure, deformation, and failure under rainfall and earthquake loading, implemented using OpenSees.

Prior to joining ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½Æƽâ°æÏÂÔØ, I earned my degrees in Mining Engineering at University of Tehran, specializing in rock mechanics. My earlier work focused on theoretical derivation and closed-form solutions for stress and strain fields around non-circular underground excavations.
