Program Activities
The Young Scholars Summer Research Program is a cohort-based program which recruits students from across the US. Throughout the summer, the program hosts three different weekly events:
- Career-Development Workshops: Weekly career-development workshops will cover topics such as collaboration and team science, research in government labs, research in industry, entrepreneurship, research communications and a graduate student opportunity panel. A half-day tour of the National Lab of the Rockies is included in the programming.
- Pizza with the Professors: Weekly lunch conversations with a rotation of Chemical and Biological Engineering faculty members allow program participants to ask candid questions about research topics, work-life balance, academia and other topics.
- Social Events: Regular social events provide program participants the opportunity to network and bond with each other. Programmed activities may include a welcome dinner, ice cream social, mountain hikes, whitewater rafting and bowling.Ìý
