The Campos Student Center is seeking Tutors to support academic success in engineering and applied science disciplines. This role emphasizes leadership, collaboration with faculty, and high-quality tutoring support in a dynamic learning environment.听

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide walk-in and drop-in tutoring support to students听

  • Facilitate group study sessions and exam preparation workshops听

  • Mentor and support fellow tutors听

  • Collaborate with faculty to enhance tutoring strategies听

  • Assist students with coursework, problem-solving, and study strategies听

  • Participate in training, team meetings, and tutor recruitment efforts听

Minimum Qualifications

  • 蜜桃传媒破解版下载 undergraduate with GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Completed at least one semester in the College of Engineering & Applied Science
  • Strong competency in Calculus (required)
  • Ability to effectively facilitate walk-in and drop-in tutoring
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with diverse student populations听

Preferred Qualifications听

  • GPA of 3.5 or higher
  • Advanced problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Prior tutoring, mentoring, or leadership experience
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively听

Compensation & Schedule

  • $18.75 per hour with pro-rated sick leave
  • 7鈥�10 hours per week with flexible scheduling (including some evenings)
  • Minimum two-semester commitment; continued employment based on performance听

Step 1: Video Tutorial Submission

Applicants are required to submit a 7-minute video tutorial demonstrating their ability to teach a core concept.

Instructions:

  • Record a 7-minute video explaining how to solve one of the following problems. Candidates can select which problem to solve.

  • Clearly walk through your problem-solving process step-by-step 听
  • Emphasize how you would explain the concept to a peer student 听
  • Ensure your work is clearly visible (e.g., paper, tablet, or whiteboard) and your audio is easy to understand 听
  • Videos may be recorded using a phone, tablet, or computer 听

Submission Format:

  • Submit a shareable video link (e.g., Google Drive, YouTube unlisted, or similar platform) 听
  • Acceptable formats include common video types such as MP4 or MOV 听
  • No file conversion is required鈥攑lease prioritize clarity and accessibility 听

Evaluation Criteria:

  • Conceptual understanding and accuracy 听
  • Ability to explain complex ideas clearly 听
  • Engagement and teaching approach 听
  • Organization and structure of explanation 听

Step 2: In-Person Interview (Soft Skills Focus)

Selected candidates will be invited to participate in a 30-minute in-person interview.
