Welcome to First-Generation Student Enrichment

Whether you're the first in your immediate family to attend college or following a sibling's path, being a first-generation college student is something to be proud of, and you don't have to navigate the college experience on your own.Ìý

The First-Generation Student Enrichment team is here to support you during your college experience. We provide holistic student support and connection to campus resources and opportunities for all first-generation students on campus, including those affiliated and unaffiliated with the First Generation Scholarship Program.

Our goal is simple: help you build community, feel supported and find your path—academically, personally and professionally. Through programs, events and partnerships, we create space for you to connect, learn and thrive.

Am I a First-Generation Student?

You may identify as a first-generation student if:Ìý

  • Your parent(s)/guardian(s) do not have a four-year college degree.Ìý
  • You were raised by a single parent/guardian who does not have a four-year college degree.Ìý
  • You attend college at the same time as your parent(s)/guardian(s).Ìý
  • You were raised by someone other than a parent with a four-year college degree.Ìý
  • Your parent(s)/guardian(s) earned their degrees outside of the United States.Ìý

This definition may not reflect every student's experience. Students who identify as first-generation based on other circumstances are also welcome and encouraged to connect with the first-generation community.Ìý
