CU Heritage Center – CU 150thÌýAnniversary Research
The Heritage Center Museum is offering three paid positions to assist with researching individuals, topics, and events from CU's history as part of the university'sÌý150th AnniversaryÌýin 2026. The Heritage Center is coordinating research efforts and content to support a year-long storytelling initiative for the campus. Students will be trained to conduct research using the Heritage Center's relevant collections, as well as resources from other campus or local libraries, museums, and various online digitized collections. They will perform detailed research within these collections and write short historical accounts or biographies that include relevant citations.
ÌýOur collection includes archival material and thousands of photographs, publications, artifacts, memorabilia, scrapbooks, and textiles covering many aspects of CU history from the 1870s through the present. The Heritage Center is devoted to preserving ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½Æƽâ°æÏÂÔØ's extraordinary 150-year past and truthfully representing the history and people of Colorado's flagship university. ³§³Ü±è±ð°ù±¹¾±²õ´Ç°ù:ÌýMona Lambrecht, Curator of History and Collections
Schedule:Ìý8-10 hours per week, with the potential for up to 20 hours.ÌýThe ideal candidate will be able to begin as early as May 13.ÌýInternships are for the summer semester with the option to continue through the end of 2026.
Format:ÌýIn person with some virtual research available. Research at other campus repositories and local libraries will likely be needed. The museum is temporarily located on East Campus at 30th Marine Street.
Compensation/Course Credit:Ìý$18 per hour. Students may earn 3 internship credits towards their HIST major or minor by completing several personal reflections/journal entries and submitting a final project/sample of work from their internship. To earn credit, students must enroll in HIST 4930.
Desired skills:
- Interest in historical research, historic collections, and/or a career in museums or archives
- Experience with research using various primary source materials
- Excellent research, documenting, and writing skills
- Detail-oriented and organized
- Ability to read script/cursive handwriting helpful
- Familiarity with ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½Æƽâ°æÏÂÔØ campus, Boulder, or Colorado history helpful
- Experience with genealogical research helpful
- Comfortable working independently and willing to ask questions when needed
- Flexibility, adaptability, and a sense of humor

Louisville Historical Museum - Outreach and Education Intern
“Be a Part of the Story" at the Louisville Historical Museum! The Museum engages the community, preserves historic collections, and shares the history of Louisville. One internship position is available for the Summer 2026 season.

Schedule:Ìý12-15 hours per week, with the potential for up to 20 hours.ÌýThe ideal candidate will be able to begin the week of June 2, 2026 with the internship ending on August 7, 2026.Ìý
Expected schedule is Thursday – Saturday, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. with variable additional hours for Museum events. There is some flexibility in scheduling within the Museum’s open hours of Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday 10am-3pm, and Wednesday 1-5 pm. Final schedule will be mutually agreed upon after the intern is selected.

Driving - Free parking is available in the lot behind the Museum on South St. as well as street parking in the surrounding neighborhoods.Ìý
BusÌý- The RTD Dash runs between Boulder and Lafayette and stops in Louisville. The closest bus stop to the Museum is at the corner of Short St. and Main St. at stop #17882.Ìý
Bike/ WalkÌý- The Museum can be reached by numerous bike paths and trails across Boulder County.Ìý.
Compensation/Course Credit:ÌýStudents may earn 3 internship credits towards their HIST major or minor by completing several personal reflections/journal entries and submitting a final project/sample of work from their internship. To earn credit, students must enroll in HIST 4930.
Desired skills:
- Interest in public history, historic collections, and/or a career in museums or archives
- Interest in learning about and sharing Louisville history, local history, and Colorado history with the general public (all ages and abilities)
- Interest in or past experience in leading tours, engaging with visitors during Museum programs and events, supporting independent and informal learning experiences
- Experience with research using various primary source materials
- Excellent research, documenting, and writing skills
- Skill or comfort with graphic design (Canva or Adobe Creative Suite) preferred but not required
- Detail-oriented, accurate, and organized. Ability to prioritize and work with interruptions
- Comfortable working independently and willing to ask questions when needed
- Flexibility, adaptability, and a sense of humor
