JILA is one of the nation’s leading research institutes in the physical sciences.
JILA is theÌýjoint research, training and technology development institute between CU and NIST and the nation’s first full University/Government partnership. The high quality and productivityÌýof our scientists and trainees are supported by JILA’s unique structure and technicalÌýand administrative resources. JILA’s four spheres of excellence—Research, Training,ÌýTechnology Development and Collaborative Partnerships—focus on quantum sciencesÌýand technologies with strong programs in atomic, molecular and optical (AMO) physics,Ìýastrophysics, biophysics and chemical physics. This currently includes a focus on the broadÌýCU and national priorities of Quantum Information Sciences and Technologies (QIST).
