Warner Imig Music Building
The College of Music’s Warner Imig Music Building—totaling more than 89,500 square feet—houses recital halls, large ensemble rehearsal rooms, a choral room, a state-of-the-art recording studio, more than 50 practice rooms, some 80 faculty studios, as well as classrooms and offices. Our students also have access to the Howard B. Waltz Music Library and the American Music Research Center, one of the largest and most important music research collections in the country; as well as access to dedicated space for our Musicians’ Wellness Program and Entrepreneurship Center for Music. Performance facilitiesÌý
This 2,000-seat, century-old auditorium is home to our main stage opera productions, large ensemble concerts and special performances throughout the year.ÌýMacky also houses theÌý, a unique facility dedicated to the discovery of new information about American music. The center sponsors concerts and scholarly activities and serves as an archive—Ìý(Norlin Library)—for several extensive collections of American music.Ìý

The 500-seat Grusin Music Hall hosts hundreds of performances every year by faculty, students, small ensembles and guests.ÌýÌý

Our 150-seat Ensemble Hall is designed for the college’s larger groups (e.g., ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½Æƽâ°æÏÂÔØ Symphony Orchestra, ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½Æƽâ°æÏÂÔØ Wind Symphony and ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½Æƽâ°æÏÂÔØ Symphonic Band) to collaborate and rehearse. Additionally, with its telescopic/retractable seating, this space is ideal for performances by smaller groups.Ìý

The 270-seat Music Theatre is the home ofÌýthe ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½Æƽâ°æÏÂÔØ Musical Theatre Program and ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½Æƽâ°æÏÂÔØ Eklund Opera Program.
The college’s outstandingÌýmusic libraryÌýis considered to be among the nation’s most comprehensive. The library contains more than 150,000 volumes, scores, recordingsÌýand periodicals. Computerized facilities are provided for listening to recordings and work stations are available for computer-based reference searching.
CAMLÌý(N1B49) +ÌýCrunchÌý(N1B08) labs
The college also features extensive facilities for music technology and electronic music study. TheÌýComputer-Assisted Music LaboratoryÌý(CAML) is a multi-purpose labÌýdesigned primarily for classroom instruction. The lab features numerous workstations, each with a Musical Instrument Digital Interface (MIDI), sampling keyboard and a computer. TheÌýCrunch lab is a fully-featured electronic music project studio. This lab is optimized for computer music research (including live interactive performance systems)Ìýas well as sound recording and editing projects and audio/video production.Ìý
