Faculty Conference Awards
Subject to the availability of funding, theÌýResearch & Innovation OfficeÌý(RIO) awards a limited number of grants to support planning and hosting conferences at CUÌýBoulder on an ongoing basis throughout the year. Such activities can occur virtually provided an eligible ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½Æƽâ°æÏÂÔØ employee is hosting the event.
Conference grants provide partial support for organizing conferences that promote the scholarship, research and creative work of the Boulder campus faculty.ÌýIf the conference is going to be virtual in nature, we ask that you include theÌýÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½Æƽâ°æÏÂÔØ logo on all conference materials from this site. These awards are intended to support one-time or initial events; established, recurring and/or annual events are ineligible. Awards can be up to $3,000 from RIO and other sources of funding are required.
Eligibility
All ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½Æƽâ°æÏÂÔØ Tenured and Tenure-Track Faculty, Senior Instructors, and Career Track Research Faculty (i.e., Research Professors Series, Senior Research Associates* (SRA), and Research Associates* (RA))Ìýwho hold an appointment of half-time or greaterÌýare eligible to apply. Other full-time staff routinely engaged as principal investigators on scholarly or scientific research, such as librarians or curators, who require financial assistance to organize a conference promoting research or creative work on the Boulder campus, are eligible to apply for a conference grant.

Basis of Awards
Conference grants are awarded based on (1) the conference’s benefits to ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½Æƽâ°æÏÂÔØ and external research community; and (2) the research or creative record of the participants. Applicants should secure matching support from their unit (e.g., department, institute, college, center) before applying and include it in the budget. RIO prioritizes interdisciplinary conferences and those that foster new collaborations between ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½Æƽâ°æÏÂÔØ and external researchers.Ìý
Time Limit
Grants are awarded for a one-year period. Unspent balances revert to RIO and any costs exceeding the award amount are the responsibility of the grantee.
