Nu Rho Psi, the National Honor Society in Neuroscience

The official mission and purpose of is to:

  • encourage professional interest and excellence in scholarship, particularly in neuroscience
  • award recognition to students who have achieved such excellence in scholarship
  • advance the discipline of neuroscience
  • encourage intellectual and social interaction between students, faculty, and professionals in neuroscience and related fields
  • promote career development in neuroscience and related fields
  • increase public awareness of neuroscience and its benefits for the individual and society
  • encourage service to the community

Requirements to JoinÌý

  • MajorÌýin Neuroscience
  • Completion of 3 college semesters
  • Completion of 9 creditÌýhours of Neuroscience major courses, of which at least 6 credit hours have NRSC prefix
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher
  • Neuroscience major GPA of 3.5 or higher

Isabel Flenard Cárdenas - President

Isabel is a senior studying neuroscience with a minor in sociology on the pre-med track! She previously worked in the Molas lab, conducting research on neural circuits involved in threat responses and adaptive learning in mice. Following graduation, she hopes to pursue clinical research and attend medical school. Outside of academics she's a swimmer and Finance Officer for CU swim and dive; she loves all things pink, collecting trinkets, and spending time with friends!

Molly Egan - Vice President

Molly is a senior studying neuroscience and psychology with a minor in spanish and this is her second year LAing for the neuroscience lab techniques course. After graduating, she aspires to achieve her masters in behavioral neuroscience and eventually pursue a PhD to continue working in the research field. She is from Rhode Island and in her free time enjoys the beach, hiking, live music, and camping!Ìý

Cammie Crowson - SecretaryÌý

Cammie is a senior majoring in neuroscience with a minor in art practices and is on the pre-med track! She is also the president of the CU swim and dive club. In her free time, she enjoys hanging out with her friends, lifting, and ceramics!

V Gutierrez - Events ChairÌý

Vanessa (left) is a senior studying psychology and neuroscience. They currently volunteer in the CU Stereotyping and Prejudice Lab, helping with research that involves biases in STEM and how experienced stigma poses various identity risks. After graduation, they hope to pursue further research in social psychology, with an emphasis on preconceptions and minority groups. They enjoy manga, video games, drawing, and hanging out with their partner!

Emory Foley - Marketing ChairÌý

Emory is a senior studying neuroscience and psychology with a minor in public health! She works in the CUChange Lab studying cannabis use and its effects on memory and cognition. After graduation, she hopes to pursue a PhD in clinical or behavioral neuroscience and continue working in research. In her free time, Emory enjoys hiking, lifting, going to concerts, and traveling!
