Jacob Van Ek Scholars Award
°Õ³ó±ðÌýJacob Van Ek Scholars Award, one of the College of Arts & Sciences’ highest honors, is awarded each spring to select undergraduates in the college. The award recognizes superior academic achievement and outstanding contributions to ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ÆÆ½â°æÏÂÔØ and the surrounding community through service, work and/or volunteering.
To be eligible for the award, students must:
- Have a declared major in the College of Arts & Sciences
- Have a cumulative CU GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Not have won the award previously
- Be nominated by a CU faculty or staff member
Nominators will contact the student to begin the nomination process. If a student feels they are a strong contender, they should reach out to a faculty or staff member who may nominate them. All undergraduate students are eligible although juniors and seniors will be given stronger consideration.
What to expect
- Early February: Call for nominations are sent to A&S Departments.
- Late February to early March: Applications are due.
- Mid April: Award notifications are sent out.
Awarded students will receiveÌýan Amazon Gift Card (estimated at $200) and be invited to attend the Honors Convocation in the spring.
