A&S Honors and Awards
Challenges. A&S students eagerly want to tackle them head on. Once in a while, certain communities of students chase experiences with greater fervor, and our honors program and awards were design to support and recognize this unbounded exploration.
Honors courses. Academic-infused events. Honors thesis research and creative work. Opportunities exist in every direction, giving you the exact direction needed to mold your vision.

Every semester, the Arts and Sciences Honors Program, in coordination with departments within the College of Arts and Sciences, gives qualified undergraduate students in the College of Arts and Sciences the opportunity to write and defend an honors thesis in an attempt to graduate with Latin honors:Ìýcum laude,Ìýmagna cum laude, orÌýsumma cum laude.
Most students undertake a thesis project within their major (Departmental Honors), but there is also an interdisciplinary option (General Honors).
Each semester the College of Arts and Sciences publishes the Dean's List to recognize students who have demonstrated academic excellence.
To be included on this list—which includes a notation on their transcript and a letter from the Dean—students must have completedÌýat least 12 credit hours of ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ÆÆ½â°æÏÂÔØ course work for a letter grade in any single semester with a term GPA of 3.750 or better.Ìý
